We set about designing this new line of infrared saunas to stand apart from the competition, but not just in visual appearance. We wanted the entire experience to be above the rest; from better and thicker wood, to thicker glass, more power, more infrared, taller doors and better ambiance. We wanted commercial grade for a consumer product. Modern style that was simplistic and harmonious. Useful touches throughout like removable benches for yoga space, double towel hook and rounded seat make the interiors much more rewarding.
Band Configuration: We tried severaldifferent iterations of band and without until we settled on the final product.Colors were chosen to imply calmness with minimal light. Lighted molded glassdoor handle was explored but deemed too complex to produce and made way to amolded wooden handle. Frameless door was also chosen because it producescleaner lines.
Magazine Rack and Cup Holder Concepts:Ultimately they were deemed too expensive to make production and made way for amuch simpler final product.
Interior Concept: TV, integrated slats forinfrared sensors. We chose against the TV since the main point of theexperience is to cleanse and visual stimuli is distracting. We also choseexternal, protruding slats because it provides more of a barrier and is easieron the back.
The Original Concept Equinox Corner Model had a unique L-Shaped door that opened the entire corner. After much research it was shelved due to engineering and weight issues needed for manufacture and shipping.
